Big Brother 10 - Houston Casting Call Experience

Big Brother 10
casting call began at 5 p.m. ended at 9 p.m.(central). i arrived at 4:40, when i got there, already about 200+ people in line. it took me about 3 & 1/2 hours before they finally got to me. when they did get to me they did groups of 10 interviews. only one question was asked, “who is the best player in big brother history EVER”? each person gave his/her answer. the entire interview took about 6-7 minutes. after i left there were still about 200+ people in line overall, i would estimate about 400+ people at the Houston casting call. source mbarr362 on jokers

Big Brother 10 - Casting a Gay Cowboys

“Hey Kenny, so you know I work in a gay bar right. Well a co-worker of mine might be on the next installment of BB. I guess BB wanted a gay cowboy, so they contacted the Gay Rodeo Association. So the Rodeo Association gave them a list of 4 people, and this guy JOHN DOE I work with was one of them. I guess its between him and another guy. I’m not really that close with the guy, he’s kind of a tool… but he’d do well on the show. I work in a typical gay video bar, and this guy wears wranglers and cowboy hats to work all the time. Its kind of funny. He gets along with most people, and used to be married so he also flirts with girls. He’d probably do well on the show. He just bugs me. I’ll keep you posted if he gets on…”

Big Brother 10 - Casting calls at Salt Lake City

Big Brother 10

Manipulative liars, all of them, and they’re proud of it.
Potential contestants waited outside Jason’s Deli at The Gateway mall Thursday for a chance to audition for CBS’s reality show “Big Brother,” where the name of the game is to manipulate and deceive housemates in order to win $500,000.
“You basically get a bunch of money to lie to each other. It doesn’t get much better than that,” said Anthony Collins, 21, from Layton. His twin brother Brian, who was also in line to audition, said Anthony was “a master at it.”
“Big Brother’s” auditions is just the most recent of a slew of reality programs and movies this year that tapped the Salt Lake Valley for talent, including “High School Musical 3,” “The Real World,” “Deal or No Deal” and “So You Think You Can Dance?”
For its 10th season, “Big Brother” will cast 13 to 16 people, put them in a house for three months and tape their every move. It’s a little like “Survivor” meets “The Real World” with weekly vote-offs, except contestants have no contact with the outside world: no phones, TV, computers, music or movies. The show even bans writing utensils so contestants can’t pass each other notes, Castillo said.
“I like that you can’t predict who’s going to get booted and who will win,” said April Blackwelder, 25, about “Big Brother.” She and her roommate, Tom Bassett, 33, hope to tag-team the competition even though

Big Brother 10 - Audition Process

source

“Not to change the subject or anything, but I auditioned for Big Brother 2nite here in Salt Lake City, Utah. And–without trying to sound cocky or presumptuous–I believe I did really well. They said that call backs would be made by this Monday.

I even made the evening news. Woohoo! They showed us standing in line for the auditions. Vicki, if you have Comcast, you can go to “Utah On Demand” and then “CBS news” at 6pm to see it.

Auditions were… from 4 to 8pm and I got my turn at 7pm. The lines were long–if I had to guess, I’d say there was about 250 people who auditioned.

If you are interested in hearing more details, let me know. I’ll write more tomorrow. Right now, I’m just tired as hell from the whole process and then being excited afterward and calling family and friends.

Just a bit of info before I call it a night–we were taken in 3 people at a time for the interview (I don’t understand why they call it “auditions”, it seemed more like an interview to me). There were 2 people doing the interviewing. The typical interview total lasted 15 minutes for all 3 people. For my group, it lasted 35 minutes and I did most of the talking.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Again, let me know if someone wants details.

Big Brother 10 - Casting call in Auburn

Sharing living quarters is so difficult, in fact, that reality TV has created an entire programming schedule of it. Shows transform manipulation and relationship-testing behaviors into nothing but pure entertainment.

Casting for one of those programs, “Big Brother,” comes to Auburn Friday.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the show attracts plenty of 20- and 30-somethings who, like myself, have spent a good chunk of their recent years almost living as nomads.
